Howdy Pardner!
We are putting together care packages for college students and military next week. I am making some cards for the military boxes. Here is one card set I am almost done with. I am making 28 of them. I used Dry Brush stamin around on the base. The 1st layer is Riding Hood Red that I ran through the Tim Holtz Brick Wall Embossing folder and then inked.
The 3rd layer is a new technique I learned at Art Group on Tuesday. It is a paper leather look.
I cut out the Top Note from Storybook Cart. Spritzed form water on it. Rolled it.
You are suppose to dry it out using your heat gun, but I didn't have electricity yesterday so I just let it air dry.
Then finally Run an ink pad across it.
The finally layers are from the Old West Cart. A piece of twine finishes it off!

Back to School
So Dear Hubby needed me to make some cards for the Educators in our church. He wanted to give them a note of encouragement as the school year started. I have to admit I got carried away but I LOVE how they came out. In the process I discovered a new technqiue. I'm sure that someone else's has probably already done it but I was excited. I wanted to give the trees and leaves texture. I thew all the tree trunks (15) into my Tim Holtz Distressed Wood folder. Ran it through the Texture Boutique. The debossing/embossing was light and random. I used the Tim Holtz Distressed Brick Wall folder for the leaves. I literally dumped about 30 leaves in the folder and ran it though. If you click on some of the pictures you can see the detail on the leaves.
The files I used for this project were from SVG Cuts and My Scrap Chick. The card base is from a set card September Scenes Stand Up Cards. It's was the Maple Forest Card. I also used the School House & School Bus from School Bears at My Scrap Chick. Who has extended their 60% off sale! Woot!

For Doris
We received word on Wednesday that my husband's Aunt Doris had cancer and would not live much longer. She loved my cards and so I made her a special card on Thursday. Sadly the card did not make it do her before she died. I am glad though that she did not linger as the kind of cancer can be especially painful. It is an easel card with a file from Mary when she had Mamaw's Legacy. The stamp sets are both from Stamping Up.

Working in Secret
So I haven't completely neglected my art, so don't worry. But I can't post for a while because I'm working in secret on a birthday present. Although the heat and allergies do hinder motivation I'm making pretty good headway on it. To be continued........

Judson Eagles
So my baby will be heading off to college in just a few weeks. I created this SVG for our car. I think it came out wonderfully. It was much easier using the new Sure-Cuts-A-Lot update. 2.021. It took a while but not nearly as long as it used to to clean it up. Yeah. I think it looks great! I've got to make 3 more. 1 - DD 2 - DD's boyfriend 3-DD's boyfriend's parents. Now I just need to do some XC vinyl for the cars. Guess I should throw in some golf clubs for Jordan. If you would like to download this SVG, do so here.
Please remember to link any pictures back to my blog. Thanks.
Etching
So today I decided to finally finish etching my kitchen glasses. The Daisy and Welcome ones I did back last fall? (3 & 4 on the bottom row) For Chris - This was NOT a quick project. In fact it took all afternoon. The etching doesn't really show up on the glasses unless you are holding them so they look pretty uniform on the table. Nicely though you can tell which glass is yours hopefully. Anyone like a glass of ice tea?
