Happy New Year

Happy 2011 to all. I've had company for a week and then got sick right after they left for the last several day. Finally starting to feel on the mend. Haven't had time to spend in the ArtHaven with all the comings and goings so I thought I'd share the boxes I made for our Christmas Swap at Art Club. I used the Big Boutique Boxes from SVG Cuts. They were easy peasy to make and they were a big hit at the party. I've got extra girl's here this morning and even had an extra boy for a while. (One of the kid's friend blew his radiator in front of our house.) Winter came back with the new year so I'm glad he had car trouble here and not in the country.

I am working on a couple of special cards that hopefully I will finish today.

Getting ready for Christmas

I've been busy working on stuff for Christmas. Mostly presents. But I have been working on the dinner table decorations. Here is a peek. The Snowmen are from My ScrapChick. The place setting is just the rounded square in SCAL 2 folded in half. Don't you love the huge snowman! 11 inches tall! I have another one ready to cut out! I'm loving it. I used my Cri-Kit Pens to draw the names and snowflakes. I used up a whole black glaze pen filling in the names but it was so worth the effect.

Christmas Present for Tiffany

So this is for another niece, Tiffany. I used Penny Duncans Fancy Edge Books, some of her Shaplies, some frames from SVG Cuts and from Free SVGs. There are also some Greeting Farm and Bells and Whistles mixed in for good measure. Also included by not shown is a 8 1/2 x 11 vellum sheet full of quotes from my niece and her friends that I got from her Facebook Wall. The paper is an old DCWV Summer pack. I used my friend's Zutter Bind it All to put it together. I used lots of old posterboard with songs for Jr. Church. Leftovers from back in the day when we didn't have DVDs, Powerpoint or even access to a copy machine. LOL

More Swap Stuff

This is the bag I did for Diann. I couldn't find a plain brown paper gift bag. They were always sold out. LOL I used vinyl for the cut file and the name I have on the file is Brandon W. I'm sorry I don't remember who you are. :(

I used the cut file from SVG Cuts for my Tag. I love the paper. I think it was SEI? I added stickles for some bling and a little ribbon.

College Countdown

I've been working on a special surprise for my daughter. It is a Thanksgiving to Christmas Break Countdown. Each box has a little treat in it for her. This year there is 12 days from the end of Thanksgiving Break to the start of Christmas Break. I used pyramid boxes #1
from Monica Bjork. The stand came from Hobby Lobby at 50% off!
The paper is a variety of Christmas paper I had been hoarding.
I added a few bells to the extra hooks for some Christmas spirit.
I added 2 more holes with my Big Bite to string the ribbon through the pyramid.

Add my Goodies. Among the goodies are, Kit Kat, Mint Truffle Kisses, Candy Cane Kisses, Peppermint Gum, Tic Tacs, Cinnamon Hot Chocolate, Peppermint Sticks, Raspberry Hot Chocolate and Breath Savers.
Strung my Ribbon through and tied it. Added the Number Tags and tied it again. Looped on end which I left long and tied it to make a hanger. Trimmed the edges and Hung it up.

I'm hoping the boxes will last and I can make this a yearly tradition for her while she is in college. I am tickled with how it turn out.

Christmas vinyl

Last December DCWV & Hobby Lobby came out with Holiday vinyl in a tube. It was rather expensive from $19.99 to 29.99 I think. Anyway in January I got a "Peaceful silent night on clearance for 3 or 4 dollars. The picture made it look pretty big and the regular price had been $24.99 I threw it in a Christmas tote and pretty much forgot about it. Since then I've discover how easy vinyl is to work with and found a great supplier in Expression Vinyl. When I pulled out decoration, I was stunned to see how dinky purchased vinyl saying was. So I added my own gold star using the start my Mamaw's Legacy Shepherd's card and the manger silhouette from Scrapping Table's Christmas set. I think it really looks good and have downloaded some great looking svgs this week I'm itching to try with vinyl. I got a few empty wall space that needs a little holiday dressing.

Shudder & Swing Cards

Here is two Christmas Cards I've made using some Penny Duncan's files. I really had a time with the first one. It started off so awful. I finally put it away for a day and then tore it apart and started over. The Swing Card has a manger cut off of the Craft Edge forum. I'm sorry I don't know whose it it.

Christmas 2008 (July 09 # 24 & # 25)

Just a couple of simple layouts. The gold ribbon is leftover from making Wisemen crowns a few years ago. I don't remember what font that I used. Sorry.

Ohh! Cool Toys (July 09 #23)

I need to spend some time and plan some pages. I finished my daughter's sophomore scrapbook and have part of her Junior year done. I've got to get some pictures printed to boot. So Tuesday at Hollie's House of Hugs, I grabbed a tote with some pages from 1997 in them. The medical supplies are Lora's from Notes from a Scrapbooking Lady and I made the GameBoy. Yeah Me! Sometime I need to figure out how to put the files up to share. Sorry I'm not there yet. I'd love to here ideas on how to do it. Hint, hint, wink, wink.

Trimming the Trees ( July 09 #9)

We do have 2 Christmas trees. One that my hubby and kids decorate with all the things the kids made and ornaments passed down or given over the years. And a smaller one that I decorate that is all coordinated. I love them both. I used Storybook for the lettering and the tags.
