Happy Birthday Lizzie

DD Lizzie turned 19 on Sunday! Wow where did the years go? She loves Penguins and she LOVES< LOVES Ice Cream! So her birthday card has both.

The adorable penguin is a part of a set from My Scrap Chick called Beach Penguins. Some of her favorite flavors are here - Chocolate Moose tracks, Lemon Ice, Strawberry and Mint Chocolate Chip!. Just Chillin was jazzed up with a bit of crystal effects along with her sunglasses. The Just chillin' is from Create a Critter (one of my favorite carts). The paper is from DCWV Fun in the Sun Summer Stack that I picked up ages ago.

Inside the card I used Nifty Fifties for the words but needed Printing 101 for the plus and equal sing. The enjoy is from Wild Card and the Ice Cream cones are from Sweet Treats.

I made a homemade Ice Cream Cake of Cookies and Cream ice cream, Oreo Cookies, Crushed Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Hot Fudge and Chocolate Toffee. The 9 x 13 pan only had 2 pieces left by morning so I think it was a hit! :)

Off to Art Club today! I've got stuff piled up digitally for the blog and hopefully I'll have time to get it up this week!

Playing around with the Imagine

So my friend, Hollie, got an imagine for Christmas and I got a change to play around with it on Tuesday. I made this fun card using the Nifty Fifties Cart and the Best Friends Cart. I orginally was going to make it into a Birthday card for my friend, Deb, but then my daughter texted me. She sent me pictures of some of her art work that is on display at her college for Preview days. So I made it into I'm proud of you card. I like some of the options of the imagine, but that really made some thing ultra hard. I hate not being able to decide where on the made things print/cut. It's also a pain in the tush to make things the size you want. Really time consuming. I'm looking forward to playing around with it more, but it certainly doesn't replace the expression by a long shot.

Radio Waves

My brother is having a birthday next week. This is the card that I made for him. He is a Ham radio guy so I used his call letters. The base of the card is embossed with the Stampin Up Lattice Folder. I used the Radio tower from Nifty Fifites. The letters are from Designers Calendar. The inside says Happy Birthday in Morse Code.

PS. He loved it!

Hey Daddyo

This is a birthday card for a special friend. His birthday was last week but his present didn't get here until midweek. I used my new Nifty Fifties cart for the car and the words. I love the font on this cart as well as the great word combinations and pictures. The sun is from Pooh and Friends. The presents are from Sweet Treats. The great road and sign are from a Jpeg that I've earmark as Mama's Mels Stampin Addiction, but I can't find it on her blog. I hope I didn't tag it wrong. Anyway I traced it in SCAL2 and it cut beautifully.
I'm finally getting over the cold that won't end, but DH now has one so I hope I don't get it back. It's cold here again and DD is getting ready to head back to college this weekend. It's been a wonderful holiday season for us. Lots of great family time, a great deal of giggles and Mario Kart. Finally got my hair cut yesterday. 9 1/2 inches gone. I feel so light. Slept so good. My hair had been getting caught underneath me and waking me up. So glad for a bit of a change. Off to do laundry and mop. Got one more Christmas party tonight.
