Window Card

So I need a couple of cards and was browsing the internet, mostly splitcoasters for card ideas. When I ran across a card that I knew I wanted to make my own version. Here is my version I used a window svg file from Kwernerdesigns. I used Stampin' up set Forever Young on Velum and embossed it. I did 2 windows inside and out.

You can take a peek at the original here. And please visit her blog the Paper Stamper.
I really like the way mine came out and I hope the ladies who receive them enjoy them.

Happy 85 Years Young

A very sweet gentleman from our church turns 85 years old today. I used a variety of small stamps in Poppy Parade and French Flourish stamp in black for the background.
The cut is from Mamaw's Legacy which is sadly no longer available. :( I miss her work! I popped up the Cardinals. What do you think of the card?

Sense my card has Cardinals I thought I would share about the Cardinals I have hear at the new house. I think there is about 6 pair of them. The males love to come onto my front porch and peek through the screen door. It about drives the cat crazy but they don't seem to mind them. They will also come and set on the closest branch to me when I am working out in the yard.

School Play

The local High School is putting on the musical Aladdin this weekend. One of our church girls is the Genie. I made her this card today. I used the Paper Doll Dress Up and lots of Bling. Another of of our girls is playing Jasmine so I should get busy on another card.

Fun with Acrylic Stamps

When I playing in the ArtHaven over the weekend I used a some of my colored images. This gal is a digi stamp from My Greeting Farm. She is a love of fun. The words are acrylic stamps from this months Close to My Heart's Stamp of the Month set.

The nice thing about acrylic stamps is that you can arch them to make then go different ways. Notice the first card I used the stamps straight as intended. In the second card I curve that stamp as I put it on my Block. I love how it came out!

Fun Day in the Art Room

Yesterday I spent most of the day in my room and got quite a few cards made.
All of the cards drew from colored and cut out box.
So some of the things are my stamps and some like the birds
above I must have stamped at a friend's house.

I used my new stamp set from Close to my Heart.
I'm not sure of the name, but it is an encouragement set.

I really like it because it has 2 stamps one for the outside and one for the inside.
Ex. Above - Just a note to brighten your day
Inside- and chase all those clouds away.

This card is my version of one they made at Art Club.
I just stamped my image twice and them punched them out with my Stamp punch.
I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards and I hope the inspire you.
Two of the stamps are digis by Elizabeth Bell and one is a Greeting Farm digi.

Anniversary Cards

I was asked to make an anniversary card for a friend's son's 1st Anniversary. Since it was their first anniversary I wanted to use the colors from their wedding which was pastel green and blue.
The card I made I used Penny Duncan's Swing Card File and See from the Heart Stamp. I used VersaMark to stamp French Flair background. Mulberry paper from Korea I used behind the See with the Heart Picture. I cut Happy Anniversary from Martha Stewart's Elegant Cake on the opposite side. I used a variety of stickers from Jeffery Allen.

Since the card was for someone else to give I got nervous and made a 2nd card so she would have a couple of choice. I used some various die cuts in my accessories box.

My Hubby like the first card best and my daughter likes the 2nd one best. I like them both.
Tomorrow we shall see if my friend like either.

I think I am finally getting my ArtRoom the way I like it. Although I am still having trouble finding all my stuff. This week though it will be neglected for the sewing room.

Thank You Cards

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while. Life just got super crazy busy. Got my daughter back to college at the beginning of August. I've canned about 42 pints of green beans, 44 quarts of tomatoes and sauce and 48 quarts of Apple Pie in a Jar. Looks like our first frost will be tomorrow night so I will go pick everything left tomorrow.
Maybe things will slow down a bit and I will be posting more again.
I made this card as a project for a women's group at church back in May. I decided to make up the extra parts not used in the project and make a nice box for them. I used Bigger Bags from My Scrap Chick. I think it worked great but the next time I think I will use Velcro for the closure. It holds 14 cards.

Amy's turning 40!

My little sister, Amy, is turning 40 this week. I wanted to make her feel like that turning 40 is a victory and not something to freak out about so here it is....
Yes it is the same cow from my post yesterday. Actually the cow was my inspiration. I was thinking all the things people have cows over. :) I used Rubarb Font in my Serif Scrapbook Artist for the wording. Boy is that program wonderful. I wish I had known about the newer Craft Artist version when I bought mine. Oh well.

Fresh Strawberries

So perusing my Blogger Reading list I cam across a post by the Pink Stamper. It made me smile and was perfect for a card I needed to make.
She was highlighting a new cart release, but Create A Critter has a cute cow on it too. I have that one. :) The words on her card front was from one of her stamp sets.
I just cut it out using Pooh Font.
But why did I need a Thank You Card you ask?

For the batch of wonderful sweet strawberries that were delivered to my door on Thursday!
The yummy paper strawberries were made using a Free Strawberry file from SVG Cuts.
The font is Frutopia! I can't wait to hand deliver the card in the morning!

Mustang Wedding

Here is the very unusual Wedding card that I have been working on for the past couple of weeks. Mostly ideas have been rolling around in my head.
It had to have a Mustang on it.

Good Friend Shelly found this great cut on Cricut Creations by Amkscrap. I cut several to make it layered with the Floral Wire inside of it. I tried to hide the floral wire under the paper. :( It didn't co-operate. Once again I found great use of this road SVG from Mommy Mel's Addiction. The Light Green Trees are from Einnej. They are a wedding invitation pocket but I cut off the side and bottom.
The darker front trees are from Cecil Badlands who no longer has a site. Sorry. I used paper and bits from an paper pack from American Tradition Designs called Road Trip and SEI's En Route.

When you pull the tab on the right the car pulls out and strings with "pop cans" (made from real pop cans appear behind the card. There is also a Bride and Groom in the car. I made them eons ago from a clip-art.

For the envelope I have to used 4 12 x 12 pages. Silly me made the card 12 inches wide. I added a scalloped edge from Stacked Scallops - My Scrap Chick.

I hope they like it!

Father's Day 1

Here is my Father's Day card for my Dad. I used my new Open Sea Stamp set from Stampin' Up. I love that set. Of course thanks to my Dad I am pretty much a sucker for any boat with a sail. Funny considering we've always lived right in the Middle of the United States. I got to have lunch with my folks and give him the card on Wednesday.

Ladies Group

So last month I got a call to do a craft night with the ladies at church. I had about a week to prepare, but it was a very busy week already. I enlisted another crafty friend into doing soda can flower pins with the Big Shot. I came up with 3 cards to make. The hardest part was my friend picked up a package of pastel paper. I'm more of a deep, rich color gal.

All three cards used Stampin' Up stamp sets. Four Frames, Because I Care and Thoughts and Prayers. I also used my Textured Boutique for some dimension.

They all went over well. Whew!

Pacific Point, Cherry Cobbler and Eary Expresso

While getting ready for Art Club on Tuesday, I was looking at my paper, trying to decide what to take with me. My eyes fell upon these three Stampin' Up colors and I decided to base all my cards on these colors. The stamps are a variety of stamps I've picked up here and there.
The second card I used the set Happy Together from Stampin Up. These pieces are all leftovers from another card I made but haven't shared yet. :)

Having fun with ink and sponges!

Today at Art Club I just grabbed a bunch of stamps, inks and pulled out my sponges. I had loads of fun. Most of the pictures had between 7 and 15 stamps on it. I will layer them onto cards another day.

In the Mail

Just a sweet little card to let someone know you are thinking of them! This little gal is a Belles n Whistles Stamps. The paper background is from Stampin Up. It is from their 6 x 6 in color paper hostess stack. That's a mouth full. I wish they sold these because they are handy dandy for cards!

Ninja Bear

My Son is finishing up his semester of college with a bazillion papers. At least that's what is sounded like when he rattled them off on Saturday night. So this too cute bear is from SVG Cuts Johnathon Bear Set. Although my son is a Taekwondo guy, I thought the whole ninja thing would be a fun card for him.
The inside words I found on the interest when I Google Ninja sayings. The Finish Strong is Mom wisdom. :) Hopefully he will get it tomorrow. His dear wife will find something special for her tucked inside his card.

Some Fun with Dustin Pike Images

Yesterday at ArtClub was really awesome, but I got very little done. I had missed the week before and it was just good to catch up with everyone. Then we got the nice surprise of having Shelly & John dropping in to say hey. They are up from Florida for her Grandma's funeral.
I did get a couple of cards done.

The first Card is for my daughter, Lizzie. She is an Art student. The card just sort of happened. I had the flu while she was home for spring break which was a bummer and colored a bunch of images digital and rubber. I had intended the butterfly and "flowers" for another card but they just seemed to work. Steampunked Dudley is of course from Dustin Pike. I just love him. I used stickles and crystal affects on some of the pieces for dimension. The butterfly is a stampin up stamp and I'm not sure on the other stamps.

The card using another Dustin Pike images is for my Brother and his wife. Her mother and Step-Dad are in the processing of moving in with them. I think it will be quite the adventure and quite an adjustment for all of them. I started this card as an Easter card for one of their boys, but after I had the front I changed my mind. The front seemed to say life with family isn't always what you expect but that doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy and cherish it. DH dropped them both in the mail this morning. So hopefully they will be bringing some smiles soon.

Annabelle's Birthday Card

So our worship pastor's youngest daughter has been asking me since Christmas if I have her birthday card done and what I am getting her for her birthday. Her 5th birthday is Sunday and I finished her card today. She is such a sweetie. I've got her a Belle pillow and Fleece Blanket set so her card is to go along with the gift.

Both Belles are from the very talented Mardenz. I used a slew of Carts on this card.

Castle was Paper Doll Dress Up
Hills - Country Life
Bridge and 2 of the Trees - Pagoda
Grass and Flowers - Create a Critter
Leafy Trees - Serenade
Royal Celebration & Birthday Princess - Birthday Cake
Just for You - Stamping Solutions

I had the castle and both Belle's already cut and assembled and the rest of the card
took me 4 hours to finish. I had a blast making it!

So finally!

An update on my scrap week. I did really good until Sunday and just sort was tired. On Monday I had a fever and wasn't feel good at all. Lupus had reared her ugly head and had me moving pretty slow all week.
102 cards completed
6 bookmarks
8 cards partially complete
Here is the pile!
I did work slowly on cleaning the ArtHaven all week.
I've finally got it looking good. Just a few stickers to file.
This week I will probably start making a new mess.
That's the fun right?

The cards I'm sharing today all have stamps from the Greeting Farm. Remember everything was from my scaps and my "Stamp File".
Definition of "Stamp File" - I like to stamp a bunch of stamps and then sit and color them in the evening. Then I cut them out and put them in my "Stamp File" to use. However the pile had gotten way out of control. LOL
