Having fun with ink and sponges!

Today at Art Club I just grabbed a bunch of stamps, inks and pulled out my sponges. I had loads of fun. Most of the pictures had between 7 and 15 stamps on it. I will layer them onto cards another day.

Happy Birthday Lizzie

DD Lizzie turned 19 on Sunday! Wow where did the years go? She loves Penguins and she LOVES< LOVES Ice Cream! So her birthday card has both.

The adorable penguin is a part of a set from My Scrap Chick called Beach Penguins. Some of her favorite flavors are here - Chocolate Moose tracks, Lemon Ice, Strawberry and Mint Chocolate Chip!. Just Chillin was jazzed up with a bit of crystal effects along with her sunglasses. The Just chillin' is from Create a Critter (one of my favorite carts). The paper is from DCWV Fun in the Sun Summer Stack that I picked up ages ago.

Inside the card I used Nifty Fifties for the words but needed Printing 101 for the plus and equal sing. The enjoy is from Wild Card and the Ice Cream cones are from Sweet Treats.

I made a homemade Ice Cream Cake of Cookies and Cream ice cream, Oreo Cookies, Crushed Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Hot Fudge and Chocolate Toffee. The 9 x 13 pan only had 2 pieces left by morning so I think it was a hit! :)

Off to Art Club today! I've got stuff piled up digitally for the blog and hopefully I'll have time to get it up this week!

In the Mail

Just a sweet little card to let someone know you are thinking of them! This little gal is a Belles n Whistles Stamps. The paper background is from Stampin Up. It is from their 6 x 6 in color paper hostess stack. That's a mouth full. I wish they sold these because they are handy dandy for cards!

Mother's Day Memories

We live near a wonderful place for walking, biking, running and more. It's called the Hennepin Canal. DD and I went for a walk along one section Mother's Day. It was a beautiful warm day. DD took a lot of pictures along the way and I thought I would share a couple with you. The first picture is of our dog Mr. Bingley in the car along the way. She loves going to the canal!

Wishin'

My daughter and I have been wishin' to go swimming but alas summer weather took a peek at us this week and has run for cover. This little cutie is a Belles n Whistle gal. She like me has obviously not used enough sunscreen. The water is from a clam shell that was around a cricut cart. I ran it through my Texture Boutique with my Divine Swirl folder. I used several distressed and gold embossing powders underneath along with some critters.

Too Funny

So I haven't been on the computer so much this week. It's been very nice here and I've been working in the yard and garden full speed so to say. It is also May and the end of the English Soccer season. I have a HUGE Manchester United fan and my hubby and I have a grand time watching the games. My daughter showed me this You Tube Video and said look it's you and Dad watching the game. LOL

May is Lupus Awareness Month

This month is Lupus Awareness Month. I was diagnosed in December 2004 after fighting symptoms since 1990. My lungs were functioning at 19% of normal. I was dying. Thankfully my husband pressed my pulmonologist to send me to the Mayo Clinic. I have gained a lot back, but will never be able to live and accomplish what I was able to before being sick. I have good and bad days. I am blessed to have a family that supports me and is very understanding but it is hard sometimes not being able to do everything for them I would like. Please think about supporting this organization and helping us find a cure for those who come behind us.

Birthday Party!

Saturday we celebrated 2 of my nephews birthdays. Clayton turned 8 years old on Sunday!
The boys had a Mythbusters Birthday Party. My Sister in law made a cake with a brownie bomb in it. So cool! I used SVG Cuts Jonathon Bear for his card. The dirt is actually from Everyday Paper Dolls and I embossed it with my Happy Birthday folder. The inside of the Card said, "Clayton we dug up lots of awesome Birthday Wishes just for you."

Ben will be turning 4 tomorrow. I used the Waterfall Card set from SVG Cuts for card. I played with the card for quite a while before finally opening his present. :) All the little boys had to have a turn with the card.
