Happy Dance!

I've got my daughter's Junior Year done except for one page. I just found a wooden soldier for the last page. My friend, Hollie, is traveling and I'm babysitting her Cricut cartridges.

Cool Package in the Mail

I got my lovely, awesomely cool prize from Lora @ Notes from the Scrapbook Lady today in the mail. Lots and Lots of cool paper. I'm thinking the clocks are going to be awesome for my father in law's 85th birthday pages. It's this coming week and we are surprising him next weekend. Thanks Lora

Junior Prom, I love this layout!

Used Storybook on different parts of the 3rd sheet for the words. I've been looking all over for a certain red paper for this layout, but couldn't find it. Was at Debbie's for a scrap day and was looking through some paper for a old family photos book and saw this paper. I think it's perfect.

Girl Vs Wild

Ever watch the show Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls? We do and the girls took off doing a video version of their own in my parent's 7 acre yard. Lucky for me they also took a picures. Now to figure out how to put video onto a scrapbook page. Hmmm. (wheels turning). The elk are from Mardenz. The Illinois is from a font. The letters are Stamped and Mickey Mouse Font carts.

Curiouser & Curiouser

Back in April, we went to my folks for spring break and the girls took about 50 really bizarre & artsy pictures. When Mardenz loaded her Alice in Wonderland cuts I knew I had the perfect pictures to go with them. Problem I had was picking which pictures to use. This page took me about 3 hours to finish. Lots of little pieces.

A few fun Pages

I used the trace in SCAL 2 to create the National Honor Society emblem. Then I used my cricut markers to draw it and then the blackout feature to cut around the edges.
The 2nd page is just fun. I used Pooh Font & My World.
The 3rd page all I used was my daughter's English homework and laid it on the page. Easy Peeze, but very cute.

Day at Debbie's

My friend Debbie had a swarm at her house today. I went with high hopes of finishing Cassie's Junior year and this summer's pages done. Well..... I got through Prom which was the beginning of May. I spent about 3 hours on a 2 page spread with the Alice in Wonderland cuts from Mardenz. I really like how the pages came out though. The rest popped out pretty fast after that. I love, Love LOVE the Prom pages. I had been so frustrated that I couldn't find red fancy paper for them, then wound up using some green paper instead. Wow it really makes the black and white jump out. Anyway I got 13 pages done so I'm pretty happy and very tired. I'll try and get a few posted tomorrow.

SCAL 2.03

Ahhh. I think that most of the bugs are finally out of SCAL 2. I may try and post a couple of files next week if they continue to open OK. Thanks to Lora for the heads up on the update. I did make a couple of files this week. A National Honor Society emblem and a Lincoln Silhouette. I've got to get to my house and the unending trail of dirt from my detasselers. My son posted on facebook between fields that the ground was really muddy again. 2 inches of rain will to that.

Happy Serendipity Day!

Happy Serendipity Day!
Today is my Granddad's birthday! We lost him in 2004 when he was 85 years young. How I miss him and the way that he made even the littlest things a blessing. I can still see and hear him saying isn't just Serendipity that we are together today and that there is such a nice breeze coming around the corner with the scent of the honysuckle. Or sitting at his kitchen table with the hideously cute? dog lamp lighting the the table as we peel oranges, drink hot tea and read the Bible together before fishing while the sun rises. So I have dubbed this day SERENDIPITY day. Go out and enjoy the little things that make our days unique and interesting! Don't forget to tell your family your love them!
